Gila is an honors graduate from Morgan State University’s Didactic Dietetic Program and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Touro College. She is currently enrolled in Sodexo's Distance Education Dietetic Internship with a projected graduation date in October 2014. The details of her internship are described within this portfolio, which includes a focus on leadership.
Gila has a strong background in health, wellness, and leadership. She held a management position with Atlantic BioFuels, a bio-sustainable food recycling company for 5 years during her college career, in which she worked with over 500 food service companies and the National Restaurant Association. Gila is also a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She teaches at various fitness facilities and community centers, and works closely with clients to effectively help them achieve ideal health goals. Working in both fitness and nutrition enabled her to blend the 2 fields, and provide comprehensive care.
Gila has enjoyed her various experiences during the different internship rotations. Completing her dietetic internship may be the end of training, but it is just the stepping stone into an exciting and passionate career in dietetics.
